From the Principal

In the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne the mantra is educating the whole child whilst acknowledging the importance of literacy and numeracy development in articular. Powerful international research from Professor John Hattie now at the University of Melbourne suggests schools focus on three things.

-- Teachers must know their impact on student learning – this will involve meaningful assessment - though not necessarily external standardised tests as in Shanghai.

-- Teachers must provide challenging learning opportunities for students. That is, learning that is at the right level of challenge

-- Teachers must provide quality, ongoing feedback on student work to drive improvement.
